Affordable last mile solution
Connectivity is the most challenging ICT component for the rural economies. Rural areas lag behind in terms of connectivity. Broadband is always touted as the best solution. How effective and affordable this is, is the debate.

Broadband is the best solution any day, rural or urban setting. Broadband is only effective when multiple uses coalese at a given point. At the moment the government sould take up the initiative to provide broadband access to its institutions search as schools and hospitals from where other users can benefit search as schools.
Broadband, if reliably provided, is OK as a shared solution. Shared by municipal councils, schools, hospitals, farmer co-operatives. The 3G mobile modems are expensive for non-commercial use.
